he Scoop In 1997, after purchasing several so-called mineral supplements and receiving little to no antler growth, even though
the deer were eating the products, we just were not seeing any results in the 2 ½ - 3 ½ year old deer, or in the button bucks.
So we went on a quest to find out what components are viable for antler and body growth in whitetail deer, We contacted biologists from Illinois and Texas, and spent countless hours in conversation with these professionals because those two states grow some of the best whitetail deer in the world.
The information we found was that most products on the market contained a high sodium content and/or artificial attractants.
With this new insight we put together our own blend from the information obtained from the biologists and started using this on our own farms. The first noticeable thing we discovered after the first year of implementing our minerals on these farms were that our button bucks were developing buttons the size of tater tots; instead of the scant buttons they had prior to our usage of the supplement. Their coats were sleeker; the colors were more vibrant in all the deer that we saw. The second year, we noticed a lot more bucks that were going in the mid 130s – 140s at 3 ½ years of age. The 2 ½ year olds were up in the 120-125 range. By the third year, we had two bucks taken, that scored 160 each.
People that knew us started seeing the difference in the deer on those farms and asked if they could get some minerals, so we started
selling it to them at our cost of producing it. One of the first individuals that used the product took a 135 inch 8 point, the largest buck of his career at that time, from that point on we received several good feedback.
Thats when Chuck Comstock took his reserched Minerals and decided to team up with Howard Hendee and his Scent Attractant studies to form the ultimate Deer Mineral
" Grow-A-Rack "
Our mineral consists of 70% viable mineral. The three main ingredients to form antler growth are calcium, phosphorus, and copper.
A lack of any of the three, you will NOT get the results that you are seeking. Remember, not all deer are lacking natural minerals such as these. Deer will only take in what they need, so one farm may have a mineral pit that is dug out three inches deep (if that) and down the road two miles, that guy may have a mineral pit that is a foot and a half deep; so their individual deficiencies will determine how much mineral they will consume.
We are not saying that you are going to start shooting B&C deer while using our product, but you will see a noticeable difference in your deer herd’s overall health and antler development. Remember, you can’t kill a 4 ½ year old buck if you kill him at 2 ½. Good Luck and have fun building your buck of a lifetime.
Happy Blood Trails!!!
Proper Mineral Sites
Through my years of setting up mineral sites I have found that it does not matter how you put your mineral out; you can mix it with water, pour it on a stump, or mix it in dry dirt. All these methods work. Deer will come to“GROW-A- RACK”! It does matter when and where you put these minerals out to get the best results. Establish your sites in March, check and refresh your sites around the first of June, and again in late August.
Don’t dump your GROW-A-RACK behind your barn and expect deer to pile up on it. I like to put it in staging areas or near the edge of a food plot near heavy cover; as this will give your deer a feeling of security and they will be more willing to visit the sites during daylight so you may observe your deer from a distance. I prefer to make my sites in staging areas. I take 20 pounds of GROW-A-RACK and a shovel to my desired staging area and bust up a three foot circle in the dirt, pour the minerals into the loose soil, and mix together. It’s that simple! Give it about two weeks and go take a look.
